A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP) is an international Catholic service organization whose purpose is to provide spiritual growth to its members through their charitable works. Through our ministry we share the love that Jesus Christ had for the poor and needy. We serve as His hands and feet in our community. Each local group of volunteer members is called a "Conference." Our volunteers visit those in need in their homes and listen with empathy and compassion. We provide hope, community resource information, financial assistance and follow up support including prayer support as requested. The work of the Society is supported by the generosity of the parishioners of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco. They donate funds, food, clothing, furniture, and other items to assist their Waco neighbors in need.
Our society serves all who call for assistance regardless of race, national origin, religion, sex or age. This Conference serves our neighbors in the Woodway, Hewitt, Lorena, and Robinson vicinities. Please see "Eligibility" on the Services page.
If you need help, please phone our Intake Line on Tuesday or Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM - 254-214-7493 - or consult our RESOURCES page.
